Yes, whinging, and now we've both been sitting in the hotel lobby all friggin day waiting for the engineer to inform us whether truck is fixed, and when I just phoned him ...he's buggered off home!

We get plenty of messages on truck computer reminding us to, 'communicate, communicate, communicate', it's just a shame they don't follow their own advice.

I'm really pissed off!

Hi Cath & Mick,
I read your blog with some interest. I was an O/D for the last 20 years, spent the last 4 years doing Norway. Fruit & Veg up, fresh fish into Europe back.
Up there you have to bend the hours to get it done. On the one hand I would load if asked, but if they stood me around for hours/days with no pay... I'd fuck em off for sure. I don't suffer fools gladly & I've read enough from you guys to know I'd never tolerate the way you're treated. I'd love the experience, but I've got a wife & kids to support. They come first.
I work for a mate now doing Scandanavia & Europe. £120/day every day I work, some days are hard, some easy.
The very best of luck to you, but you won't see me out there until the employer's attitude changes. If ever....

Kind Regards,

Alan Douglas

Hi Alan, Thanks for the comment.
I gave my notice...as I'm not the type to suck it up, and I don't need to.
